Folding wing mirrors

Featured Replies

I usually fold in the wing mirrors when parking in the street but do the wing mirrors flop forward to avoid damage when hit by a passing vehicle? They seem quite rigid to me and I feel that they may just break and expensive to replace.

Why the thought came to me was because the wing mirror on my wife's Corsa was hit and I found it hanging by the wires. All it needed was the pins to be relocated and the wing mirror clipped back into place with no damage done and with the electric functions still intact.

I am not so confident about the Roomies ability to do this.

Wife clashed mirrors with a stationary car, Glass dropped out and dangled on the electrics, put it back with no problems. She was reversing but low speed of course.
