world rally cross

Featured Replies

Just as a mention, saw it beig advertised as, i believe, live on Quest for 2016 in case anyones interested

I take it that's real World Rallycross and not RedBull's so-called Global RallyCross?

According to the Quest tv website it's the FIA world rallycross championship, with highlights been shown on ITV4.

Don't highlights of a Rallycross event tend to be about twice as long as the races?

Aye proper rally cross...

good stuff watch, generally more entertaining than a nowadays F1....:peek:

Ex F1 driver Scott Speed is current Champion of the "Global" series in the States.

Some big names in the field too - Doran, Bakkerud, Block...

On, live from Hell.

I managed to watch the latest round and was seriously underwhelmed. I remember the days of Martin Schanche (sp?), Will Gollop etc and a whole load of redundant Group B rally cars fighting it out in the muddy equivalent of touring cars where elbows out was the order of the day. But modern day rallycross is not the same. The machinery is fabulous but overtaking is nigh on impossible hence the ridiculous 'joker' route. I wasn't impressed and will not be making a date in my TV watching diary for the next round.

And before that things like flat-nose Porsche 911s. So I agree with you.

A few decades ago, our friendly Skoda dealer was 'crossing a Porsche 911
