I was checking out tdi-tuning and their tuning box that promises an increase from 190 to 220bhp plus a better fuel economy.

Has any S3 190 owner fitted one and if so how does it rate?

Just go and see a reputable remapping company that understand the intricacies of CR, EGR, DPF, DSG and SCR systems 

 

There are several Briskoda partners that are more than able to help out.

 

My personal opinion is this: I would never throw a tuning box on an engine as complex as the 190 SCR. End of......

No problem. I speak from personal experience quite a while back with a box and a CR engine with a DPF. Utterly stupid moment and I was VERY lucky. I'll say no more.......

Yeah I checked out Shark but only S2 listed on the website. They obviously do S3 from from your data sheet.

Are there warranty issues with the re-map?

According to Shark they have done several with 500Nm+ and not had an issue with the DSG

Shark however never go chasing numbers, they aim for smooth reliable figures.

 

Of course more power has to reduce the life of any related components from the engine right through to the tyres, I certainly do not drive the car like I stole it and have good mechanical sympathy so you could argue that some things will not wear out quicker as I am not pushing them to the limit.
