I wasn't even thinking "relative to an Octy", I just like simple wheels with no (or very few) recesses in the casting. The standard vRS spiders and the Elegance 5-spokes for example.

Agree. Spiders are the best looking wheels IMO just a shame nobody's doing 18" from them. I have now 18" Team Dynamics Monza R's. They looking good I just want some less curved alloys. Rs4 or something like that. But their price are way over budget. :/
