seized nuts - avoid in future

Featured Replies

If ever you have stuggled to get nuts off, try this.   Never Seeze, a product I got from a pal distributed by Snap On but also available elsewhere.

For those doing their own maintenance you do not need a big pot of this super product.

When you get that stubborn nut off, apply a film over the threads with a small brush and crank it back together again. You will not have any more problems releasing it in the future.Keeps the thread clean and especially resistant to high heat.

I first used this on nuts/bolts securing a housing for a thermostat on an exhaust manifold.   All ferrous and on a marine diesel engine.  After using this product, it just fell off.  Even put a film on the paper gaskets (both sides) and never had to replace one of those either.  Been a convert ever since.

I have used in my past car days, (some 50 years) copper based grease, never had a problem removing bolts or nuts, afterwards.

If a bolt or nut was removed almost anywhere, a touch of copper-based grease before refitting..including road wheel bolts/nuts..

Changing between summers and winters every year makes sure the wheels never seize on. I never bother adding anything any more.

I just use copper grease as well.

If something's sold by Snap On, the clue's there - it's good, but there's generally a far, far cheaper option that does the same thing just as well.

I was thinking surely that's what copper grease is for.

Ive always found the problem of getting the rusted nut or bolt off to begin with the hard part, usually because it's not been undone for many years. Once it's undone generally you shouldn't have too much trouble with it especially if you grease it before reassembly.

Copper Grease , been going for ages , proven history , cheap , does the job , what more does 1 need , always been part of my tool kit
