Blueflame Exhausts - great company, superb products!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I thought I'd show a few photos of the work Blueflame(www.blueflameperformance.com) did to my Octavia 4x4 1.8T yesterday.

I was fairly unsure whether driving 3.5 hrs either way, spending £45 for a hotel over night and fair few quid in petrol was the right thing to do but after driving the car with the new system in place I'd do it all over again tomorrow without a hint of a worry!

In the end I went for the 200cel cat option, downpipe and full 2.5" system.

The company were fantastic to deal with - both Ian and Nigel were very helpful over the phone and Chris did a great job on the day. It took from 9am till around 5:30 and the quality of work is absolutley brilliant!

See for yourselves...

First the old standard system before being taken off...

The performance of the car has been moved on leaps and bounds and if theres not an additional 20bhp up top (it now revs hard to 7k instead of tailing off at 5,600rpm or so) and 15lb/ft or torque lower down I will eat my downpipe! :D

The noise is great, a definite improvment over the rather characterless standard system, a deeper note at idle and more of a roar when powering on - on a run though its fairly civil! :)

Many thanks to Blueflame for looking after both myself and my car so well! :D

And now for the shots of the Blueflame system....

45 nuts for a hotel over night ?????????? Why! If you had a trollup with yer ' date=',,,, errrrrmmmmm ,,,,, ok(ish)!

I done it from souf London, no hotel requirements here!

You was offered an option?

What would they have fitted if no option was offered?  [/color']

The option I had was to go for a 100cel or a 200cel cat - decided on the 200cel just as a precaution emission wise.

That's a very tidy-looking installation. Many thanks for posting those pics. :D

That looks very good. The tailpipe looks quite short though?

That must be the estate version as it has the under floor tailpipe, will post pics of my system with the 'standard' blueflame tailpipe.....its anything but standard! Lee commented at the time that the tailpipe that they offer as standard looks better and is one of the best fitting that they offer

The system just gets better as it wears in....love it and I would totally agree with you about the power increase, my bro ( with a 180+bhp MX5) got in it and commented " K'nel thats a bit quicker!!!

BTW did you get it on the Group buy, overall I think that was a pretty succesful GB.....might organise a few more for other bits

Hi guys - the tail pipe is hidden from view in true sleeper style so when the car is on the ground you cant see it - thats as the standard 4x4 hatch and estate have it (mine is a hatch btw).

Yep, I got it on the GB -

So they fit the 100cel cat as standard then, I wonder if it's less constrictive than the 200?

Any comments any one?

the 200cel cat will be more restictive than the 100cel.

nice pics and a good review if anyone was entertaining the idea of using BlueFlame...

Octy can / will pass emissions on a decat...although of course it won't actually pass ;)

Good old 1.8t's.

i hear having the climate / aircon on can affect the emissions as well.

i'd have thought the best compramise would be the 100cel race cat a la Blueflame.
