Car Advice

Hello all

Not been around here for a while, but I'm hoping it's still the same old friendly place....

I'm looking at changing my car and looking for advice and suggestions.

Currently driving an 06 Lenon TDI DSG, which suits me well but is now showing it's age at 123k miles and 10 years old.I've had it for 8 years, after the need for an autobox forced me to change my Fabia MK1 VRS.

I've driven VAG cars almost exclusively for over many years, so I have a strong prefernce for them.I've had VAG TDIs since about 1997.

I need something tolerably economical- I have a 52-mile a day round-trip commute. I need an auto or DSG box, and the car needs to be around the same length or shorter than the Leon (4315mm) as my drive is short, and it needs to be quick enough to not be too dull (the Leon is 140BHP).

I don't really need 5 doors, or large luggage capacity. Decent, supportive seats a must- I need the autobox because of a continuing back problem.

One big question is petrol or diesel? Diesel limits the choice a bit, I think. The Leon does about 42-43 mpg commuting. I can put up with a slight increase in fuel costs. DPF probably not a problem for me, as the commute is 6-7 miles of urban, then a motorway run, so I don't think the DPF will block. I do about 12-13k miles/year.

Suggestions? Obvuiously Fabia/Ibiza/Leon/Golf/Polo/A3 are in there somewhere, but to be honest, with other things going on I've lost track of models, engines etc. Is the dry-clutch DSG still a bit questionable for reliability? The Leon's wet-clutch DSG has been very reliable- the selector lever failed, but other than that I've done 100k miles without a problem.

Hi All,

I'm thinking of buying a Superb from New-Car-Discount.com.

Anybody had any dealings with them?

It seems the original company went bust in 2010, when they were taken over by somebody else;

since then, the reviews on reviewcentre.com are all good.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
