I bought the car in March 2015 after writing off my mark I Octavia (which I had had since I passed my test) and have been the proud owner of a lovely and hassle free car ever since.

I took it in for its yearly service in March and soon after an airbag warning light came on.

Then about 2 days later the engine warning light came on and occasionally the heater coil flashed

After another week or so the heater coil flashing has become permanent. I read on here that this can mean the brake lights are not working. However, I have checked this and they are functioning correctly.

After being on tour for 2 weeks I have come back and after 3 days of driving my car the exhaust light has now come on also.

Also today my cruise control has come on by itself on the motorway causing the car to accelerate.

I'm finding it hard to believe that these are all isolated faults that have happened at once as the car has been problem free for a year and my previous experience with Skodas has been so good

I am wondering if there is maybe a connector that could have been loose after the service that could be becoming more loose and triggering these faults.

Myself and my father are pretty good with cars and have most tools at our disposal (we rebuild classic cars) so any help in finding the root of this problem would be appreciated.

Sounds a bit like an earth issue and/or you may need a new battery

But best get it scanned. Anyone local with vcds?

I'll have a look for someone with vcds and I'll post the logs once I can get them. If I replaced the battery would I need to reset the warnings or would they turn off on their own?

The airbag warning light will need to be cleared, the others will depend what's causing them.

A VCDS session and posting an autoscan will definitely give you a much better chance of finding out what the problem is :)

Hi guys, still no update on VCDS trying to find a garage near me that has it. But limp mode has now enabled.

Hey, So I have had the Boost actuator cleared by the garage and was supposed to have a regen.

The garage claimed that they couldn't get the temperature high enough to initiate the regen. So I am now looking at being myself a VCD kit to get this done myself. I am aware that I will need to do something to get the temperature high enough for this to happen.

Does anyone have any idea on this?

The original fault codes were

P2563

P0299

P2463

Also, Can anyone suggest a good VCDS system to buy?
