Over the last week or so i have been using the voice control for media selection  ie  "Select Track" , "Select Artist", "select album" and can confirm im really impress how good it is, yes it brings back the odd result but is so simple to find a track quickly on the SD card.

 

If your not using, get into the habit i say !

I was listening to Radio 2 which on the selection list as 3rd, just after Radio 4 extra.

 

Trying Previous Station, I expected Radio 4 Extra and got Radio 3 ( 2 places to the right)

 

Does anyone know how the order works to try and figure out what previous and next will jump to.

It's easier to just state the name of the radio station - i.e. "RADIO TWO" (works on FM and DAB frequency settings).

Or you can say "SCAN" to hear 5 seconds of each station until you hear one you want to listen to (scans the current frequency setting - AM, FM or DAB).

Or you can specify the frequency, i.e. "NINETY FIVE POINT EIGHT" (works on AM and FM frequency settings).

Select artist works ok, apart from the odd blip when it brings up something entirely different or wants to switch to phone contacts or something. I've learned not to speak too early let the little mic icon appear and it works better.

I found I need to say BBC Radio 2 or it seems to direct me to Radio X

 

and I am still trying to get it to correctly choose Dazed and Confuse by Led Zeppelin instead of Days of Confusion by Genesis.

Has anyone tried to activate Voice Control on cars that wasn't build with it? My car has the button on the steering wheel, but it says 'Not Activated' when pressed. Can this be done with VCDS?

It's not bad, but I've had better. Asking for an artist or album mine sometimes decides to look up phone contacts for some bizarre reason and you do need to wait for the little mic icon to appear before speaking. But it does work well with the satnav though when you are on the move

In my Superb 2016 infotainment problems:

 

I have USB properly taged with artists, albums, songs. The magnifying glass symbol, marking search function with keyboard, doesn't pop up. I can only scroll through 5000 songs I have. When I try voice command, saying "Select artist" It says "Loading artists, try again later" and nothing happens.

 

I also have Ipod classic, 3rd generation and it says "usb unreadable", although it works flawlessly in Volvo and Peugeot 508.

 

Any help?
