Evening,

 

I've been visiting the site for a while, but have not felt the need to post yet.

 

Just want to say Hello from Leeds, and give a massive thanks to all the incredibly helpful members and wealth of information I've taken from these forums. A year ago I bought a 2001 Fabia Estate, paid next to nothing had a few issues (clutch pedal snapped within a week!! Drop-links, bushes etc etc)

 

When I bought it, it had that intermittent PAS failure, which up until now I've lived with as it was so no big deal day-to-day. Today I finally picked up the courage to replace the sensor! Thanks to all the incredible info on these forums. I've also used the guides and info on here to fit an armrest, aftermarket HU, extra courtesy lights in the back, and tidy up some of the paint work.

 

I'm a computer hardware engineer by trade so don't have a problem getting stuck in, but vehicles are pretty new to me (although I do think my theoretical knowledge is good) and without this site I would've probably paid stupid amounts for someone else to sort it.

 

It's only the Classic trim mk1 Fabia, but it's incredibly solid, economical with no fancy electrics to go wrong, no turbo to explode and now the PAS sensor has been replaced, fingers crossed it's just the consumables to worry about! It sounds like a tractor and has the performance to match, but I love it!
