Stage1 fabia vrs mpg vs Stage 2 fabia vrs mpg

Featured Replies

Which one is better in terms of mpg? Im assuming stage one?

Welcome to the forum.

Pretty much the same given all other things being equal and driving at UK NSL's.

Both better than the Standard MAP as long as the cars weight being the same.

Very much down to the driver and the map. So I don't think you could compare the two.

Keep it off boost, coast when you can and learn to anticipate traffic lights / slowing down for things, your mpg will shoot up. Obviously longer trips are better than shorter too. Keep your tyre pressures correct and make sure no brakes are binding. Are you classing 'Stage 2' as a different turbo setup or is it a so called 'Stage 2 map' ?

When I used to do a 130 mile commute every day I found my cars averaged this;

standard vRS = 55mpg

Pd150 turbo (180bhp) = low 60's

Hybrid pd150 turbo (230bhp) = 60-70 mpg

(All sticking to speed limits)

Heading up to snetterton last year got a real 73mpg. Around town driving I've noticed no difference in mpg. Full throttle uses more fuel though, quite a bit more tbh.

With standard turbo and a remap (stage whatever you want to call that) I was getting 520 miles to a tank, mainly motorway driving. With big GTB on at 2 bar i'm getting 410 miles to a tank, again nearly all motorway driving and I don't hang about.........HTH. 10 gallon tank so the man maths is easy for mpg calc.

My MPG dropped when it was mapped from standard to 175bhp, the map wasn't the best and smoked a bit so extra fuelling probably contributed towards that.

Recently had a Airtec FMIC, GT1756 PD130 hybrid running 234bhp, also cleaned out inlet and all the new pipework and the MPG is a lot higher, very pleasant to drive and there's no need to be ragging it about everywhere because you'll be doing 70/80mph in no time, definitely wish I had done it earlier.
