skoda accessories recommendations for new owner

Featured Replies

Having recently purchased my first fabia I'm wondering what accessories everyone would recommend. I've seen the door bins and sunglasses holder. So anything along those lines. Is it easy to install the sunglasses holder?

  • Ok looks good so is there any drilling required and do you lose the rear cup holder?

  • Wind deflectors. LED bulbs in the interior lights Arm rest Sunglasses holder And brisky stickers of course Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  • There isnt a more solid armrest than the oem. The oem uses the threads in the floor of the car, so its solid.    No aftermarkets known on any threads i've seen have been as good tbh.

Sunglasses holder is dead easy to fit, underseat storage boxes are pretty handy as well if you don't have them.

I got a centre armrest not oem, but a good quality after market one really good (not that expensive), and as said the sunglasses holder is a cheap and easy to fit

Does it get in the way of the handbrake and was it easy to fit?

You lose the rear cupholder but you have two more under the stereo ;-), self tapers so no drilling required

Or look out for a used genuine armrest. I got one for about £60 I think. You only lose the little tray aswell and get to keep the cupholder.

This, plus a few VCDS mods to make life easier.

Then it gets more expensive. Aftermarket headunits, Maxidot etc etc

Sits above the handbrake, but is pivoted so can be moved to be upright between the seats, it fits in the two cupholders behind the handbrake

That's the one I got,I offered £30 and they accepted it, looks OEM when fitted

How is the fit on these? I've just had an offer of £25 accepted for the fabric one from the same seller.

I know this sounds silly, but what real benefit do wind defectors do? Does it reduce cabin noise?

As for the sun glasses holder, people saying it's simple, I'll probably break it! Though I do want it as I'm fed up having to get them out of the case :)

Wind deflectors let you have the window down a bit with out making the cabin really noisy and keep the rain out. Also they look great!

Just some self tapers its a bit of a fiddly job but not too hard. they come with instructions

yea that should fit fine. At my local dealership, black onxy isn't listed on the system for my vrs, only the pearl grey one, but I've sure I've read somewhere that it does fit no problem.

So overall are you happy with the armrest? Decent quality? I'm looking at the same one on eBay at the moment :-)

personally I'm happy with it, its probably not as sturdy (it's sturdy enough) as the OEM but then again its a lot cheaper, it looks stock, and does the job ,or the £30 delivered that I paid you really cant fault it

I had the OEM arm rest in mine when I got it, looking to get wind deflectors and some led bulbs for interior and reg plate.

Yeah I noticed that, the one I have in my car is the pearl grey, but I am replacing it with the black onxy, it will kinda go with my dash a little bit better, but my roof is grey so the colour is meh. But the feature I get is a sunglasses holder!

Absolutely mate. 140 quid at the dealers. Ridiculous amount of money. Can't go wrong for 30 quid! Going to order one I think.

Hey guys,

I have brought the sunglasses holder, it should arrive tomorrow but I was prepping on how to take the current one out? It seems like mine wont come out? Do I need any tools (I was trying to use the end of a fork)

Just don't want it to break, although I will probably take it back as I have the grey one, shall see how the black one fits though.

When it arrives you will see where the prongs are and there for which side you need to pop out first. I think it was the rear most facing side. Once you know that it's dead easy, either use a flat bladed screw driver or a bank/store/reward card. This is assuming you don't have a trim removal tool.
