Hi, I have a query regarding the onboard computer/counter. Firstly, this is going to sound like a really basic question for this website but due to not being able to find any info online can someone please tell me what the different options that can be scrolled through actually mean? Secondly there is the option to switch between 1 or 2 on all the screens, what is the difference or meaning of this?

I think you need to specify what kind of dash your car has. If it is not the maxi dot then the options are, time, time engine works, fuel consumption at the moment, average fuel consumption, ambient temperature, kilometres driven since engine start. Of course I had a non maxi dot Octavia MK1 back in 2010 so I am not sure about the exact order of all the above. 

 

Indications when stating 1 means that all figures are for the current status of the car since the last startup of the engine. Thus they are automatically reset after one (or two) hour(s) the car being parked.

 

Indications when stating 2 means that figures are measurements and mean values since the last service of the car.

 

I think all these are described at the owner's manual.

Theres also the range to empty on fuel. Which is based on the current trip mpg reading
