I'm grey haired and the proud owner of an Octavia. (not quite true as the car is in the wife's name) This is our second Octavia. However we did have a MB1100 some years ago followed by an Estelle 105. In between times it was Nissans. It may be likely that my late father drove Skodas as he comes from what was Czechoslovakia. We were members of the Skoda Owners club at the time of owning the Estelle and recall looking forward to their newsletter. I raised a query this morning re the driver's mirror on a forum and was pleased to get a quick response.

Thanks for your note, my father came from Zilina now in Slovakia. Never been there but we did go to Bratislava earlier in the year. A very peaceful city compared to Prague. We have friends in Croydon who are from Brno which I believe is in Moravia.

Hi we recently bought a nearly new 2025 Skoda Enjaq 2025 85X and three weeks ago the following happened to my wife on a flat car park: I reversed into a parking space with empty spaces each side of the car. I elevated the P switch to red light position. I opened driver door and screen was on Goodbye. I got out of car and closed driver door. I opened rear right passenger door to remove a bag. Closed that door. Remembered I needed to turn off Interior Monitoring as dog was in the boot. Opened

Faults with windscreen wipers and lane assist

My 2023 Fabia started throwing up two faults. First the windshield wipers stop working and there's a fault about that. So far I have been able to get them started again by turning them on and off a few times. Then another fault happens in rapid succession and the lane assist stops working. I have an extended warranty until September but the dealer suggested it might be out of warranty because I recently had an oil service, MOT, and new tyres fitted at a local garage. Any advice welcome.

A heads-up... The fuel-filler flap on cars is not (normally) designed to provide waterproofness and, when it rains or the car is washed, water will find its way into the compartment area behind the flap. My 2009 Skoda Roomster's fuel-filler compartment has a drain-outlet directly below the filler-cap. The outlet's bore is quite large and any water collecting in the compartment rapidly drains away and disappears harmlessly behind the rear wheel-arch's plastic liner. My 2024 Skoda Fabia Mk4's f
