I have the registered version of VCDS Lite and it can save logs and can do more than one measuring block at the same time, if I remember correctly the unregistered version would not allow the saving of logs.

I see, so if I do end up buying VCDS Lite I'll have to register it then in order to take logs. Seems fair enough. May I ask how much VCDS Lite costs to register, is it £60 or something I have read somewhere?

Sounds reasonable.

I've taken boost logs with an eBay cable and non registered VCDS Lite, so you should have no problem. (I think I logged group 3, 4, 11, and 20, all separately but I think I read somewhere that logging more than 1 group at once decreases sample rate)

Still worth registering though for AutoScan and adaptation in case you ever need it

For basic functionality, I'm using an ELM 327 wifi Interface to work with my iPhone (it works with both Android and iOS.). It's able to connect to about any car maker available at this moment. For Android, I bought Torque Pro from PlayStore for less than 5$ (IIRC). For iOS there aren't that many options, the one I like is iOBD2. A VCDS license is OK if you have a shop, otherwise doesn't worth it. I haven't tried yet the ELM software that runs on a computer.
