Convenience Opening has gone!

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Looks like my first problem has arisen. Ive used the convenience window open thing on the key fob before so I know its there, however it no longer operates for me. Ive checked the convenience is set to 'all windows' and carried out a factory reset but nothing : (

All thats changed in the car is that I had mirror dip, refuel quantity and teardrop wipes added through VCDS by an experienced user.

Any ideas before I brave the dealer?

On a separate note I had something similar in my Leon, although it was the auto door lock above a certain sspeed. One day it simply ceased to function. Three weeks later I pulled away from some traffic lights and it clunked into life. Strange!

Have you accidentally pressed the window lock button on the drivers door? Mine wasn't working the other day after I had been messing around in the car and this was the answer!

Thanks I'll have a look. The Windows are opening normally from the buttons though!

Checked that, no dice sadly :(

Make sure that the auto closing function is working correctly on all the windows.

If this has become unadapted then anti pinch will not be present and stop the comfort open/close from working.

Hi James, by auto closing you mean the one press close from the buttons on the cabin? So try each one? It sounds suspiciously like I need to put my finger in there to check the anti pinch lol!?!

If all the windows inside close automatically with the one touch function then anti pinch will be active and the convenience closing function "should" work.

Thanks James. I've had it sorted this morning by a forum member. Seems it was a VCDS related issue! It was a bit strange though, my spare key would open the Windows but not close them, my normal key wouldn't open them at all. Very odd.

In the end I think it was something to do with the coding for the teardrop wipe, re entering the code fixed it.

Thanks all
