I just want to state my thanks to the members here.  The help, advice, and community spirit here at Briskoda is second to none.

 

I'd like especially thank and recognise langers2k and Eddie-NL. They have been most helpful in my quest to source and retrofit MFSW and maxidot parts.  langers2k has even sent me his spare wiring loom on the trust that I'll replace it once it arrives.  We haven't even met so I'm grateful for his trust.

 

Cheers guys, I owe you both several beers (or poison of your choice!).

That's why I stuck around even after selling my Mk1 Octavia.  I've been in the wilderness for four years without a Skoda but the helpful and genuine folks I've encountered on here have been great.  It reaffirms your faith in people when they'll help purely because they can.

Just to update this thread.  Thanks to their help, I got my MFSW fitted last weekend.  Langers, your replacement loom is on its way to you, sorry for the delay!

The wheel was 311Euros, but it was the 3 spoke VRS wheel that I wanted.  I then spent £70 on the module and £15 on the loom.  The maxidot was £60, but it's a very early non vrs model.  It'll suffice for what I want and at £60 I'm not fussed if a newer one comes along to replace it anyway.

 

I haven't fitted the maxidot yet. I need to try and organise a trip down when it's convenient with Ed

£60 for maxidot seems like a bargain! If I remember rightly the VRS cluster isn't too different to a non-VRS cluster anyway.
