I'm sorry to be a little off topic, but my son owns a 1986 Nissan Bluebird Turbo that has electric adjustable dampers (DCC) And it was standard equipment 31 years ago!

Do they still work?

Trying DCC on mine in normal mode for now - it doesn't magically make the car very soft or bouncy (springs play a large part in that) but definitely takes the harsh edge off bumps in country lanes and potholes. Glad I went for it as I feel it makes a big difference to overall comfort.

VRS facelift with 18" wheels

If you travel at very high speeds the dcc comes into its own in sport mode ( not that I've tried it!). If driving at night fast the way the new headlights light up all the road really helps too. I spend most of the time in comfort mode though

I’ve just ordered a VRS 245 with DCC but would like to drop the ride height by a further 15/20mm all round. Is this possible with the DCC set up?

Yep. DCC is dampers only, so lowering springs are ok AFAIK. Worth double checking with the supplier though...
