Green Sump Plug

Featured Replies

Just bought two sump plugs from Eurocarparts on their 25% off offer for £1.20 each delivered.

Any idea why they are green, is this some sort of protection?

That's what ones I've bought in the past have looked like.

I would imagine its an anti corrosion coating

As said, looks anti-corosion "grease" coating.

Thanks guys, the last one I got was a genuine one from a Skoda main dealer, without the green coating.

Is the genuine item better quality and therefore does not need the anti-corrosion coating or is the aftermarket ECP one even better than OEM as it has increased protection?

It'll just be to make them prettier.
