Today, my girlfriend and I went down from Glasgow to Manchester to collect her new car

On the test drive it was driving fantastic, noticed the difference between the CR and PD (as my vRS is CR and the L&K is PD) and also the difference in power (170 vs 140) but even with the different it drove amazingly.  Now im slightly jealous, this car has every option going....MFD, Xenons, heated elec leather and alcantara seats and amazing sterio (compared to the stream) and other nice touches, down lighting from the mirrors, follow me home lights and much much more.

Got back to Glasgow and gave the car a decent wash with Autofinesse Lather, also went over it with Autofinesse Iron Out to remove any contaminants from the paint and to also see how the paint is looking.  Really in need of a paint correction but it looking good from a distance.

This gives me another little project.  Girlfriend has already said she is wanting a vRS spoiler for it (remove the "taxi" look) and vRS backbox for the exhaust system, replace the badges and then think more.....

So having this car for less than a week it was time to start getting it looking as fresh as possible.  The day after collecting the car i had wash and decontaminated the paintwork by using a claybar, Autosmart Tardis and Autofinesse Iron Out. I had also treated the Alcantara seats with Gtechniq I1.

So today washed the car again ready for paint correction but started on the interior.  The interior was hoovered,  Cleaned the plastic with Autosmart APC, then treated and sealed with Dodo Juice Plastic Fantastic.  The leather parts of the seats were cleaned with Dodo Juice Supernatural Leather Cleaner then sealed with Dodo Juice Supernatural Leather Sealant.  Interior Glass was cleaned using Swissvax Crystal and the gloss plastic trim was waxed with Swissvax Wood Polish (this stuff smells amazing,  like butterscotch).

Results were great:

now the engine bay, I cleaned with Autosmart APC and loosen dirt with a brush then pressure washed.  Left engine running for a bit and once dried out treated with Chemical Guys Silkshine Dressing

The Passenger front window had some scratches in it, they did look very deep vut thought i would try some CarPro Ceri Glass on them and see if they made an impact....unfortunately not :(

The paintwork was inspected and paint depths taken, found areas of repairs etc and areas which had previously been polished with depths from 105microns to 500+microns. On inspection found many scratches, discolouring, swirls and more:

might see the discolouring in this pic

Correction method initially was going to be using Scholls S17+ then S40 but as some of the scratches were a little deeper opted for Scholls S3 Golf with a Lake Country Wool Pad for heavy correction then S17+ on a Chemical Guys Yellow Hex Pad to polish and refine and S40 on a Chemical Guys Red Pad.  Results were fantastic...even my gf got in on the correction stage:

This was where the discoloring was:

The car was then protected using Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid on the paintwork, Dodo Juice Clearly Menthol on the exterior glass, Dodo Juice Plastic Fantastic on the exterior trim, Chemical Guys Wheel Guard on the alloys. Swissvax Metal Polish on the exhaust then Renaissance polish wax to protect.  The end results:

I've a 2007 model L&K with the full leather interior and they are stunning cars to both look at and to drive ... I'd love to get mines a full machine polish so as Father's Day is approaching I might drop some hints to my family, not that they ever listen to me

My partner is very lucky i machine polish cars for a living, but to her, before it was done she wasnt really caring lol Now on the other hand she is taking care of the car alot more than she usually does :) so win win in the end :)

ended up getting another one from a scrappy for £25

20160719_124239_zpst3aqgsoe.jpg

Now just re replace the badges, was initially going for L&K ones, tried them but didnt go well with the colour of the car, so will replace with newer style ones soon
