Hi everyone,

My Roomster has got a leak from the driveshaft into gearbox. There is also excessive play on driveshaft.

Dealer has quoted over £800 as they think it's driveshaft bearings.

Anyone had anything similar? Its only done 44000 miles.

I'm always a bit of a pesimist when it comes to oil leaks, some people would say its just a leaking seal - but I'd be thinking that its a bearing or more!

 

It could be that your dealer has experience of this so has hit the nail on the head, either way - ouch!!

Get a second opinion from an independent garage. Seal is probably £15 + an hour or two labour?
