Can I have the rear lights on with DRLs?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to have rear light cluster with front DRLs in the fogs? I know I can switch the DRLs to the dipped beam but would be good to have it with the dedicated DRL?

You would not have to have dipped beam on just your side lights which will obviously give you rear lights as well or you after the drl's bringing on the rears automatically.

If you turn your sidelights on I think the DRL's will dim to 35% brightness. DRL's run at 100% when used as DRL's not sidelights.

IIRC a '58 plate has a PQ35 BCM, in which case it's possible but not via VCDS.

You need either VAS-PC, ODIS-e or VCP, I think even ODIS-s might be able to do this one :)

Sorry not updated Sig. Car is now a 10 plate estate with dedicated DRL in fog Assm.

On my 58 plate I used the dipped beam option in maxidot to do DRL. I'm not averse to doing this again. However if I could do it with the fr dedicated DRL and rear clusters I'd be happy.

That's definitely PQ35 based, if you're ever up this way I can sort it out for you.

I think radders567 has enabled rear DRL on his Octavia using ODIS-s. It should be a very similar task to enable them on your Superb and he is much closer in Andover. Might be worth a PM :)

Thanks Langers. I was hoping it might have been something like change to Scandinavia or something like that.

DRLS are a good idea but they should have been fr and rr.

Yes, this is possible, although not with VCDS. Your dealer can do this, or it can be done with VCP. I'm already driving around with rear lights (combined with DRL's) since 2013. For the "how-to", check this post on Skodacommunity.de. (Use Google Translate)

I'll ask the local dealer but I won't hold my breath

I've fitted DRL LED bulbs, (without any coding so they must have resistors), would it be possible to have the rear lights on with them?

2012  Superb Elegance, as per sig.

Should be able to.

As mentioned above you'll need either VAS-PC, ODIS-e or VCP, I think even ODIS-s can do this. Unfortunately, VCDS can't :)
