Is it just me or are they small for the size of the car ?

Seem OK to me.  For me the size of the mirror is only important in that it gives a good enough rearward view.  I don't see any connection to the overall size of the car provided they don't look ridiculously large. 

It depends, as the pre-FL and FL have very different sized mirrors.

 

Personally I feel the pre-FL are small but it's probably because I'm used to the FL size

I have recently bought pre fl and thought that they are on the small side also.

FL are a great size, if the pre FL are the same as my previous car, audi A4 B6, then yeah theyre quite small

I think the pre FL are a bit small too. They are actually the same as the VW Polos of a similar age, which has been convenient for me.

I was able to replace a broken case on my my daughter's Polo with my old scratched one and then put a new one on mine! She was happy with the fix and didn't have a clue.

There's no room for blind spot mirrors, if you wanted them.  I thought they looked like something off a Polo or Citigo
