Sunroof Rain Closing

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

just wondering if anyone has had experience with the sunroof closing itself automatically due to rain?  I've read a few conflicting reports - some people seem to say that it is available from the factory, others via VCDS.  I've also heard as standard it must be enabled each time, but can be coded to be permanently on, bust most of the discussions I've seen are more specifically referring to VW branded cars.

I remember seeing a youtube clip that demonstrated it in action on a Skoda press car so I figured that means it must be available ex factory.. can anyone enlighten me?

Mind you the settings might vary here to the rest of the world anyway I suppose..

Ah, finally... here's the clip i found - turns out it was referring to the windows not the roof, but I would assume it does both?

It will be awful if cats find out about this. Imagine, hot summers day, dog in car, windows down. Cat walks past, full bladder, sees dog - game over!

Holding down the key fob locking and unlocking buttons opens and closes all windows and the sunroof, my last Passat did the same. But I can't help you with the closing in the rain and don't particularly want to try it, I guess it would need hooking up to the windscreen rain sensor, pretty neat if it does. Incidentally for those with the hatchback sunroof why is the unit so big when the opening is a normal size? But I would say when it's open it looks good on the car, it accentuates the coupe look IMO.
