SE Technology?

Featured Replies

This model shows up on the drive the deal site and is mentioned in a couple of other places.

It looks like the SE Business but under another name, none of the dealers I've mentioned it to know anything about it.

Anybody here know anything about it or know any one that can find out, or more importantly when I can order one?

UK car ?

I think it is an admin/typo error. Should be SE Business, SE Technology is a SEAT.

Many of the car review type sites, car buyer UK for example are currently showing the models as being S, SE, SE Technology, SE L Executive and L and K.

It looks like the SE Technology is a rebounding of the SE Business, hopefully without the restrictions to just business users.

Didn't know if anyone could confirm my suspicions.

No, I don't think so, I think tisca in the post above yours hit the nail on the head.

I misunderstood the thread title, thinking SE technology meant what technology was in the SE model ...

It doesn't look like a typo it's showing up in more and more places, Carfile and Drive the Deal are showing it and as mentioned Car Buyer, What Car and a few others have it in there lists of models for the UK.

I spoke to a guy from Drive the Deal and he didn't know anything about the model but said that the data on their site comes straight from Skoda.

The SE Business specification would be ideal for me except for one thing........the diesel engine. A version with the 1.4 TSI ACT engine would be fantastic.

The only thing I can find on Skoda's website is a trim level for the Rapid Spaceback, which is called SE Tech. I did find reference to it on carbuyer.co.uk although it looks to me like they're talking about SE Business trim, but their site is so lacking in details it's hard to figure out.

I wonder if Skoda have realised that the SE Business trim is selling very well to business users as a diesel, so they've opened it up to non-business as SE Technology specification.

Nationwide-cars are referencing it, so to whatcar.

yes also seen this.. Coops

Could also be that so many private customers also been getting the SE Business via lease companies and to plug the gap for private wanting a mid range spec renaming it for the "public" market when the SE is too basic and the SEL too expensive.

It looks like it is exactly the same as the SE Business, even down to not selling to private buyers, Drive the Deal have now taken it off of their list.

I think a market... maybe Ireland did the SE equiv but then had a Technology pack with speced it close to a SE Business

From Skoda - From 1st August the Superb SE Business and Yeti SE Business will be renamed to SE Technology with no changes in price or vehicle specification.

Interesting and weird decision, I wonder why? Do they think the business name is putting people off for some reason?!

Where have you seen this out of interest?

They used the "Tech" name when they up-specced the Fabia Monte Carlo to include the Amundsen Sat Nav

But they're not changing anything about the trim level, only its name. You'd think that was just going to cause confusion! (Irony intended :) )

Hi Maffyou,

This info has come from within the Skoda network so I'm sure it will be on the website soon - it's certainly not been embargoed. The decision to rename is probably linked to the change of name for the other SE Business models. The Octavia SE Business remains open for ordering until end of July (I believe) alongside the new SE Technology (which has additional spec over and above the SE Business and was opened for ordering yesterday).

Cheers

Ok fair enough :)

I think it is to help the used market when resold, business spec as a name is getting a reputation as clapped out rep-mobile
