No problems with any of the following problems.... used them all in recent months:-

Autosmart Tardis

Autobrite Just the Tonic

and currently using

EZ Car Care GTR which is being sold off cheap on eBay lately.

All great options above. The best I've used and works for me is EZ Car Care GTR.

Just to confuse you I've had success with Autofinesse Oblitarate. Just to remind you not to use on hot panels & have some shampoo to wash it off

I used Tardis on SWMBO's White BM yesterday via a hand spayer between an initial dose of Powermaxed TFR diluted to 50:1 and Autobrite Magifoam and it removed it easy peesy

Autosmart Tardis gets another vote from me, very easy and effective to use

Think I will get some of the Autosmart Tardis to use on the wife's white car.

Is it as easy as spray on and rub off?

Or do you need to seal/wax area after use?

As it is a relatively harsh chemical solution to remove the tar and/or glue;

i would always recommend to wash and rinse the area thoroughly afterwards.

For sure, then re-seal / re-wax the area treated - would be best practice.

Is it just as easy to clay bar the tar spots off then, seeing as though you have to apply product after anyway?

Claying will remove Damo, but Tardis is much easier to remove it with, and claying is likely to cause marring (scratches, swirls etc). With tardis it melts the tar, then just wipe away.

Only ever used tardis, but would be happy to try any of the above products. The boys know their onions!!

Thanks for the info guys

As Hunty says... I went to Autobrite the other week and their advice was only clay when you have to and if you do you should follow that up with a machine polish and again only consider machine polishing if it's actually needed. Their ethos was do as much as possible contact free on a maintenance wash by using a citrus pre wash first, then remove any visible tar with a tar remover, if not skip this stage then snowfoam followed by a 2BM wash and finish off with a drying aid, with jet wash rinses between each stage and dry off after a final rinse. you should also consider using a fall out remover post tar removal the frequency depending on where your car is parked.

I've moved over to the more natural based tar removers recently since I go the other half the mini due to all the plastic. Been using Obsession Wax Purge and CarPro Tar-X. Both really good and smell alright too!
