Eibach Sportline -25mm Lowering Springs on Ebay

Featured Replies

I'm wanting to lower the Octavia due to the mahoosive arch gap.  I found an old thread about some Eibach lowering springs.

According to the seller these were a dealer option for the estate when the car was new.  They are listed as for my car and I've checked with the seller.  He used to be on here and his account has been dormant since last year, but he is selling them on Ebay for a reasonable price.

Before I go crazy and buy a set, are these suitable and can anyone see any pitfalls? The car is my daily driver, gets used for the family holiday and therefore loaded up.  It also gets driven enthusiastically on bumpy B roads on a regular basis so I don't want to lose my sump.

I'd appreciate your views,

Cheers,

Andrew.

Had a set fitted on the vRS by the dealer when I got the car so had them from new. I haven't had any problem except one which broke recently. However I don't load the car up and don't drive enthusiastically over bumpy B roads - definitely wouldn't risk that with them. But perhaps I'm just being over cautious. Do give the car a nice stance though!

It's definitely a stance thing I'm after as the standard ride height looks really bad - especially on the 17" Zeniths.

Were the springs you had fitted red or black? Some of the searches on here seem to think that they were both colours.

Mine were red.

Thanks for that Sarge.  I might get a set of these and see how they go.

I'm fairly sure the dealer option was the Pro Kit (black springs), not the Sport Line (red springs) - the Pro Kit lowers the standard Octy by 30mm, so will (I think) lower the VRS by 15mm.

The sportline is a 50mm drop over standard, so will lower the VRS 35mm. I've got a pro kit set ready to fit to my non-vrs as soon as I've got some free time, I think the sportline would have been too low for the roads around me.

Edit: just realised that the eBay link you posted are a kit exclusive to TDC - Eibach don't do sportlines for the Mk2, except these ones TDC are selling it seems! I guess that means your options are: 15mm Pro Kit, or 25mm TDC Sportline.

Mine were the genuine Skoda accessory, supplied and fitted by the dealer.

As far as I know the dealer option were sometimes red and sometimes black, I think it was to do with estate vs hatchback - but they were still the 30mm pro kit as opposed to the sportline.

So the Sportline springs won't do the job then?

If you're after a 25mm drop then they'll be perfect for you, just be aware that as far as I know they're not the same as the original dealer option :)

I would have thought that a 25mm drop would be a good compromise between practicality and looks.  As I mentioned earlier, the car does get loaded up from time to time so too much of a drop wouldn't be great.

I've heard eibach also do emergency services lowering springs to cater for police and NHS Skoda's which are design to carry heavy loads.

Interesting.  I'll take the plunge with the Sportlines and see how they cope with family life.

Hi there, Sorry for joining this conversation so late but I'm also interested in this subject. I was thinking of getting a set of eibach springs too, do the normal shocks sit well with them? Thanks
