Second Hand Fabia - Which One ?

Featured Replies

Currently looking at changing SWMBO 's car and I would like her to have a Fabia , but which one to go for ?

My choice would probably be a 1.4 16v , but in all honesty it doesn't have to be quick ( she's one of those annoying people who drives at 40-45 MPH ) , so reliability , as she does about 20K miles per year , is more important .

But it's got to have all the goodies on it , eg aircon , electric everything etc , everything that a vRS has :D .

Looking at spending

Pete,

Plenty of 1.4 comforts in your price range on the skoda website with aircon, twin airbags, electric windows, metallic etc. About

Cheers Huck , you're right there are plenty !

Must be able to get an Elegance for that money too.

IIRC rear leccy windows and heated seats (mmmm!) as well plus other bits and pieces.

Sure I cant tempt you with the TDi version? :D

Should be plently 1.4 16v's about in comfort or elegance at that price. If you fancy pushing the boat out a TDi comfort would be around your budget of

i have driven both extensively, swmbo and my mum have 16v and 8v respectively. personally i prefer the 8v 1.4 for around town driving, it will go 105mph if needs be. would only recommend 16v for someone who does alot of motorway miles. 8v is more responsive for everyday driving.

silverline is nice.

also dont rule out 2.0 elegance much fun and lovely smooth and quiet. dont know if you will get one for that money?

That big old engine hurts the fuel economy and hence the re-sale.

Still a little out of budget though, probably need to spend 7-7.5k to get one.

And they're rare too.
