Parcel shelf/boot liner won't retract

Featured Replies

Just took ownership of my 2010 superb 170 elegance and so far delighted.

One fault I have is the load cover will not retract on the roller.

Has anyone been able to take one apart as I can't see how.

The part number is 3T9.867.871 A9B9

Or if anyone has one for sale? I'm in central Scotland.

Thanks

Is it still in the car or have you actually taken it out because it wont retract?

I am asking because you have to tap down the top of the front edge, where the hand hole is, to release it to the first position and do it again to fully retract.

You probably know this already but I'm just checking.

John.

Yep it's out of the car and no manner of pulling will get it to retract.

Unless anybody else comes on and knows how to repair it I can only point you to where you can buy a new one.

Here is one source http://www.skodaparts.com/product/superb-boot-cover-2010-2013-50490

You could also contact Craig Jones at Listers Coventry -  [email protected] - with the part number and mention you are a member of Briskoda.

He normally gives a good price to members.

If you don't mind creating a log in for the Passat owners website there is a strip down of the load cover (it's a very similar unit to the Skoda one). It might help.

I had a similar one on another car of mine stick. Somehow I'd got a piece of gravel stuck in it. Worth turning upside down and pulling it out a bit further.
