Back on track there is an elderly (2002) low mileage (13k) FZS600 Fazer near me for less than £2k.

I did think about one of these once upon a time. Looks in good condition from pictures an it's within walking distance of my office.

Some concerns and older bike might need a lot of work on fork seals, springs, brakes, chain, sprockets etc.

Had a seat on this yesterday - http://www.dundeemotorcycles.co.uk/used-bikes/2001-51-bmw-r1100rt-215.html

But just physically a massive machine. Sure it would be fine on the move but not my cup of tea when I saw it.

Its what you get used to. Itd feel small for some perhaps.

Massive touring capability though, for little money.

It was beautifully clean. Looked like new. The dash lights still had the protective plastic on them.

But not for me. If I get time I'm going to take a peek at an SV650. There are some pre-reg bikes nearby for just over £4k.

Seat height is pretty low.

Suspension is the only thing that lets them down is the suspension really. But you can work around that or spend a few quid improving it

Legs are pretty short ;)
