Skoda Yeti v Ford Kuga

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm new here.

Ordering a new car very soon (next couple of days).

Narrowed down to Skoda Yeti SE L 2.0TDI 150PS 4x4 or Ford Kuga 2.0TDCi Titanium X 4WD.

My head says Kuga my heart says Yeti. Never had either of them before.

Kuga has more tech, but Yeti seems to appeal in other ways.

Any advice or experience most welcome.

I don't think you'll find many people on here recommending a Ford....

I had a Yeti and if it hadn't got to small I would have kept it for another year or two, very spacious for the size and nice to drive as well, it's just the back seat can't really get 3 people in and certainly not 3 kids seats

What is the tech advantage of the Kuga?

Having been forced to use Ford dealers when I drove company cars nothing would get me back in one.

I know what you mean.

Kuga comes with DAB radio, sat nav, powered tailgate as standard.

It also has a panoramic roof..... and a CD player!

Yeti price goes pretty high when you start adding all these things.

The truth is I'm trying to justify getting the Yeti, but apart from a "feeling" for it, I am finding it difficult.

Yeti L&K has these apart from a CD player, (but who uses CD,s nowadays anyway) and the powered tailgate for much the same price as the Kuga.

Hey, I use CD's!

The problem with the L&K is the utterly dreadful brown upholstery, and the equally awful diamond cut alloys.

To me it just looks like Skoda don't want to sell any of them.

The Skoda Yeti from 2009 never got to a 2nd Face Lift or 3rd generation and the Kuga lives on from 2008.

Hopefully he bought the Kuga, realised his mistake, and three years later is now in the market for a Karoq.

If it was a Yeti hopefully the Haldex is doing fine and ready for a oil change and the Service Desk / Workshop staff know if the filter needs changing.

If that's the new Kuga it's a bit naff (sorry - meant to say 'bland')...

Bland sells in numbers, quirky and unique get discontinued after just 1 face lift that never improves sales.  Simply clever people at SKODA.

Looking at buying a Karoq myself. I've watched loads of review videos and it seems perfect. Will find out on the test drive!
