18x9's on Octavia vrs II

Featured Replies

I'm looking at replacing my standard 18" Zeniths which are in need of a refurb with a set of CH replica's, I've seen a set which are 18x9 et 45 so will they fit and not look stupid? I'm not wanting to be messing about with arch rolling etc.

I'll most likely be using 235/40/18 tyres.

I have had a good look around to answer this but I can't find a huge amount of info on 18x9's. I did see one user on here (Red FL with red bbs splits) saying they cleared with the aid of a 3mm spacer on the front.

Cheers

Richie.

I'm waiting on wobble bolts for 18x9.5 et35 so let me know the out come of you research, should only be a few days and I'll let you know my outcome.

I've ended up going down the route of a staggered fitment as I've spoken to the wheel supplier and they can supply 8j for the front which I wasn't aware of. I just hope they don't look too lost. Can't be bothered with spacers etc.

Please post up once you get the bolts though, I should get my wheels Friday so might even chuck the 9j's on the front and check clearances if you haven't got yours yet.

I'm not sure why you'd want to run 9" wheels TBH

Is it for shows, or just because the wheels are cheap?

Tried my 9.5 et35 on the front I couldn't even get my finger between the wheel and strut, the rear I can just about get it in between, so with out spacers yours probably wouldn't fit.

Is your car a FL or pre FL? The two examples of people with 18x9 ET45 were both FL but I wouldn't think there would be any difference.

The reason for 9's is purely to have more tyre on be road and have the arches filled without spacers, I wasn't aware that I could get the wheel in an 8j initially.

I realise I was going to have to run a 3mm spacer on the front btw however I consider that to be minimal and wouldn't cause any problems.

I had an 8mm Forge spacer on the front and the wobble was unreal so they were removed immediately.

I'm surprised at this as I've used spacers before on my cars and haven't had any issues.  10mm on the front, 15mm on the rear and no wobbles.  Did you use hubcentric spacers?

Well my wheels arrived on Friday but due to the Mrs becoming ill I've not got them on yet.

I looked at proper hubcentric ones but it seems to be 10mm and under are crazy prices, I've got 15mm on the rear and they were only about £30, I'm hoping to not need any spacers with my new wheels anyway.

Look good. Any problems fitting these, look like they fill the arches better than standard wheels
