Hi guys!!

I'm from South Africa, and there's some interesting developments in our country. We still have the VW Mk1 Golf being produced as the CitiGolf.

Very soon (within the next month or two) it's receiving major update in the interior - it's getting the dash from the Skoda Fabia!!! Yes, that is correct!!

I've been searching the net for pictures of the dash, but the ones that I've found are either too small, or just plain crappy, or not the right colour.

Can any of you maybe help me with some pix please? Preferably right-hand drive ones, and not black/beige ones (as we're not likely to get those ones)

Its a shame they dont make a GTi version!

FabiaTDI - although it's not a GTI in name, the 'Life' fulfulls that role. Although it's only a 1.6, it performs admirably, and is, like the original, a real big-car slayer. And with the lowered suspension it still handles pretty well too. The 'Life' has become sort of a legend!

I have here a pic of how the Citi looks with the dash. Unfortunately, the quality is a bit crappy, so it doesn't look as nice, as it does in real life!

Yup, that's a Fabia dashboard all right. The bit over the instrument panel might be a bit deeper and more curved on a Fabia, and mine has an ashtray where those cupholder things are, but otherwise it's the same.

It's not visible in the pic but the Fabia has a little flap to the right of the steering wheel that's just the right size for a drink can. On some models this is cooled by the air conditionng.

Out of idle curiosity I've looked up the dimensions of both cars and discovered that the Fabia is slightly bigger than the Golf!
