Spare keys?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My 2002 Fabia only came with one key and given the habit of locking itself that VAG cars seem to have, along with the difficulty I'd be in if it was misplaced, I thought it'd be worth getting a second key.

I've had a look around but I can't gather whether VCDS and a new key with a blank transponder would be enough to do the job.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don't mind buying the VCDS cable with the full software and a spare key if that means I can get a second key and avoid a locksmith.

Thanks

VCDS can't do it.

No you also need the SKC

£270 for VCDS, + around £50 for a new remote / key cut and transponder, or just over £100 for a locksmith to supply, cut and code a new key.
