Speeding Fine Today - 24 Hours After One Click!

Featured Replies

I've only had my Amd one click for 24 hours and I've already been done for speeding today. My own fault really, came round an island then overtook an unmarked police car on my favourite bypass, slowed down a bit as as I was slightly wary then next thing you know the blue lights beyond the grill are going. 3 Points & a

No I didn't, the one click had me under it's complete control and said I shouldn't grass it up!!

Well it hopefully will teach you a lesson 84mph is shoking on a bypass TBH, I always thought the reason people get the car remapped etc was for better performance etc & for the track day action.

Although I won't condone speeding, I'm sure the majority of remapped cars see very little of the track days.

You can't say that unless you know the road in question and what else was happening at the time.

There are some 70mph bypasses where it's perfectly safe to drive that when it's clear and dry , others not at all.

Weird really. My only points came running as standard.... No problems when remapped. :D

Tough luck though - you may very well have done the same thing as standard - just not as quickly to 84mph obviously. ;)

I was doing more shortly after I had overtaken, but I then slowed down. They said that my average speed over however they measured it was 84mph and I was lucky that it was only a fixed penalty. I know I was speeding, but it's a big bypass that's very quite and about as safe as you'd get a bypass to be.

To be honest I thought a good telling off would have sufficed. I know they have a job to do, but stopping motorists is easy pickings. It's a shame the police aren't about when some pensioner is being mugged for 50p. If they put as much resource into proper crimes I'm sure we'd be living in a much safer place.

:(

Unlucky but at least it's a lesson learnt! With great power come great responsibilities, or something like that.

If it was a motorway chances are the police office may have let you off with a warning, any speed over 90 is usual booked.

Sorry, but speeding is a 'proper' crime just like any other.

No doubt a thief would say that taking your car isn't a 'proper' crime because you are insured.

Break a law = take the punishment = learn a lesson

Sal

anything over 80 mph is getting dangerous depending on where in the country you are (on a 70 mph road ;)) - >90 = very high change of getting pulled & booked.

Speed I was doing when I got pulled got me 3 points/60 quid fine. I've been very good since, especially near known traffic hot spots :P

only 84????

joking, just just keeping the speed argument going......

I think whether speeding is a proper crime or not depends on the situation. Though I was driving faster than I should have been, I wasn't driving like an idiot or causing any danger whatsoever to anyone. Just because someone is driving over the national speed limit does not mean they're driving unsafely.

A thief stealing someone's car cannot be compared to a speeding offence. This is my personal opinion and not an attack towards anybody. It just seems to me that policing is turning into more of a 'business', when it should really be a crime detterent. I myself have been a victim many years ago, but do you think I could find a policeman when I needed one most.

But again, only my opinion & the last thing I want to do is turn this thread into bashing match. I took my punishment without complaint as I do understand they have a jo to do but think there's times when a stern warning could be just as affective.

its not big or clever but i admit i have driven over the speed limit but never too fast that im not in control, when the contitions allow (points off license 2yrs ago) but thats my choice and risk, im not driving dangerously or carelessly apart from going over the speed limit, if there is anyone on here that can honestly say they have never broken the speed limit, speak up.

:)

84mph, the amd one click will take you a lot further than that

84mph, pathetic.

Faster would have been pathetic as I could have lost my licence instead of just a fixed penalty.

Not understanding sarcasum is also pathetic ;)

Only joking

Sorry to hear of your speeding, you must be

I try and play the 'spot the cop car game';

has it extra aerials

lack of dealer stickers/ logo'd number plate

sticking just below the limit

extra interior mirror

smart driver/passenger - mind you if you notice this bit when overtaking it's probably to late

Mind you , its a bit awkward tailgating someone @ 90mph trying to look at the numberplate:D

they say in 3weeks of people haveing a faster car they always get cought, i had my car for 1week and i got cought only just got the letter i was doin 85 in a 70 on the A30 but hopefully i can suck up, theres also a speeding awareness program i can do instead of my 3points and

Unlucky.

I've got 3 points as well. I've been pretty lucky though, to be fair, as I never hang around. Stick to the limits in urban areas, but pretty much just drive to the conditions anywhere else, and if the road permits it, a bit of lead foot is always on the cards ;)

Sorry mate :bigcry:, but remember to also add about
