SmartWheels - Manchester AVOID!

Featured Replies

OMG - I only got a quote off them a few weeks back to do my wheels...

I've decided against The Wheel Specialist. While their service is good, the cost is just too high - I think they wanted £90 a wheel as tire re-fit and re balancing are added to the cost. At that price I might as well buy another set of alloys.

Both in Stockport and from what I have seen both do a very good job, prestige had a 458 Italia and AMG-SLS in when I went round,

Yep, have used Diamond Wheels several times, over the past 5yrs. Always had a good quality job done, that lasted.

Also no issues with tyre removal/re-fit.

Those wheels are downright dangerous! They will come off after a couple of miles.

There shouldnt be any paint on the contact area, neither the contact area where the wheel is on the hub, nor on the contact area where the bolts/nuts have contact with the wheel.

If so, you will never be able to torque the wheels at the right amount. Wheels will start to wobble and the bolts will come off.

And I am not even writing about the quality of the paint on the rest of the wheel.......

Update:

Had a phone call from the guy who actually runs/owns it.

Started off saying he was reply sorry for all the issues I have had, and he genuinely sounded it.

Will be having a meeting with him to show him what was done and settle it.

Good luck with the meeting!
