Vin number

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a vin/chassi number for a sportline? The skoda workshop can't order the parts I want without it...

SuperSkoda has lots of Sportline Accessories. I've seen the grill, roof rails, black sill decals etc.

Probably cheaper than dealer too.

Unlikely as they are not being made yet, so none have been delivered to owners.

Why go to SuperSkoda, use Trades Part Specialist (TPS) instead. If you can supply a chassis number they can get you the bits, right down to the tiny switch behind the whatsyamacallit under the finklemedurkin!

Any part your dealer needs for a repair or service on your motor will be supplied via TPS. They are the VAG trade arm and supply all VAG makes n models.

Next big car show in Europe, see if there are any members going there as they might be able to take a snap of the Sportlines VIN on the Skoda stand. Using that and EDKA, TPS will be able to get you whatever bit you like unless it's not yet released into the VAG world anywhere.

Small example, a Euro headlights on Superb 2 = £240 per light from dealer. TPS = £96 each after a little haggling.

Full Golf Mk5 20k service kit including oil & all filters = £63 & a few pennies. 1hrs labour negotiated at dealers = £45. Total = £108, dealer charged £249 for same turn up and drive away service.

Worth a look soon as a VIN number appears online.

The issue with TPS in the UK is that not all of them will willingly deal with Joe Public or that is my understanding.

They don't need to be delivered yet. I had my VIN number from the moment the build was finished and the car was assigned for transport out of the factory.

I have been using the VIN number to follow my car as it travels around the world to get here for over a months now.

Not long now...... :)

They still need to be to be built and they haven't stated building Sportlines yet as far as i'm aware.

There are a few build so if anyone get a glance of one at a car show, please take a pic of the number! There are people all around the world in this forum, so it should be possible to get a hold of!

True, the two I have used were happy to trade, Portsmouth and in Belfast. Portsmouth even let me haggle £8 of 5 litres of Quantum oil, got it for £22 all in. If you go in in a set of coveralls and with mucky oily hands, they might not bother questioning your trade credentials, might be worth a try!
