Martin turns team boss

Markko Martin - PeugeotSidelined World Rally Championship ace Markko Martin has set up a team to run two cars in Estonia's national rally championship this year as he looks to make a return to the sport's top level as a driver. The former factory Ford and Peugeot driver is among a number of former works drivers sidelined due to a lack of seats this year.

Martin's team will run Group N Subaru Impreza WRXs for Estonians Rainer Aus and Martin Raum as the five times WRC rally winner looks to boost the quality of home entrants in his national series. He's said he's still keen to return to driving, however.

"This is not the end of me as a rally driver," he told Autosport magazine this week. "I'll always like driving a rally car fast. As for this being the end of me in the WRC, I don't know - you never say never. At the moment, there's a lot of excitement for me from other things, more than last year."
