Insurance on vRS?

Featured Replies

hi Guys im new in here, im wanting to buy a brand new fabia VRs at the end of this month (wanna try and get some octiavia VRs alloys for it too) anyway im only 20 and wondering what advice you lot can give on insurance because i tried a few and they quoteing me very high compraed to when i got quotes for an Ibiza FR with the exact same engine, the skoda costs almost a grand less but is an insurance group higher! anyway any good companys for me to look at? how are skodas own?

Hi

Do an online quote with Elephant. They seemed well cheap compared to any other companies. Im 20 aswell and Elephant take into account whether you have done an advanced driving course and thats exactly what im starting next week ;) I recommend it. Btw im currently a named driver on mum's insurance. She's going to be a named driver on my new policy because that reduces the premium.

The quote I got with IAM included was around 1100quid. I have 0 no claims, been driving over three years, no accidents etc..

Is that advanced driving course you mention the Pass Plus? If so it made about 5 quid difference on my car and now doesn't come into it.

It's worth getting a quote from Virgin as they were the cheapest for our vRS

I have found the Auotrader insurance search engine very useful - I'm 20.

Admiral Direct were the cheapest for me. Im 24 and have 1 years NC. However, I have had two accidents in the past 3 yrs. My insurance was about

My insurance is due this month, but I am not 20 !, shopped around and the cheapest I have got it down to is £209, for me and the Mrs , fully comp with Protected no claims.

The joys of being older and wiser :-)

Asda Insurance

:finger:

I'm 18 and it costs me £1300 and thats as a named driver in my mothers name.

well hopefully in march i will have had 3 years n/c. and using that as a starter the vrs quote for me is abouts £670 with swift. this is only 300 excess aswell. im 22 and had no claims ever. touch wood...

Insurance, it's never easy when your under 21. My Mini cost me

hi there im 20, i am insured through elephant and i have 3 years no claims and 3 points on my licence and it was £540 fully comp! Hope this helps!

Is that advanced driving course you mention the Pass Plus?
lol no. Its a course with the IAM ;)

it's ok quoting a cheap price but i could get my insurance for say £300 a year fully comp. im only 22 with 3 yrs no claims, but what counts is the excess. if you pay 500 for excess then the premium will be much less. would you want to pay £500 excess if you had a bump? probably not.... you surely have got to quote the excess on here to as it is misleading

wow guys cheers for all the response ;)

i will try all of them, think it might be worth ringing up as i do have pass plus and might get a cat 1 alarm for it, thats the problem with online quotes they might take 10% off but dont take other things into account:)

cheers once again, now gotta decide weather to wait till march for 06 plate or try and get a load on money off for it being 55 ;) might treat myself and just go for 06 and as i said on first post really want them to get my oct vrs alloys for it

Cheers Rob

The vRS has a Thatcham approved Cat 1 alarm fitted as standard, so they will take that into account, so buying another just for insurance purposes is a waste.

just for any of you new drivers out there, I do the pass plus course, and have had many people save up to £800 in insurance deals! (generally some companies will knock 30% of a premium) if you're anywhere near sheffield, give me a PM ;)

38 Full NCD Clean Licence (Touch Wood) Low risk Job, Low Risk area and car drivewayed/garaged. 16k per year Self only driving.

I've just paid

ahh pass plus <3 I saved 55% (£700) with Norwich Union in my first year.

I've just turned 19, I have 1years NCB, Insured it under my mums name who has Full NCB (9years), neither with motoring offences and a £300 excess. £868, and I took this policy out about 7hours ago :x

The thing putting my premium is where I live, I live in the most remote part of Monmouthshire on a small farm, however my post code is NP** ***, 'Newport' South Wales being the post city which has a VERY high crime rate index and therefore us country folk get clobbered too.

Car arrives Friday - Fabia vRS.

*Insurance is with MCE, they were very good and helpful over the phone too*

hi there im 20, i am insured through elephant and i have 3 years no claims and 3 points on my licence and it was

well im 19 and im paying 1600 but my insurance is due up in april and ive done sum quotes as if i was 20 and i know with the mods ive got on declared would be 800 quid.

im living in a NE area with 2 years ncb hopefully when i turn 21, been involved in an accident which wasnt my fault...and 0 points thus far

admiral was the company.. try www.4youngdrivers.com as they will be insuring me and family on tvr at a pretty reasonable price.post office are pretty good for younger drivers aswell.

tried elephant.com and they cant quote me any good either. £750 with £450 excess. why so much? the excess is a pain.

I'm looking forward to quite a reduction in my insurance when if i change to a vRS, i paid

I'm paying
