Strange rear light problem

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Sorry haven't been on here in a good while.

Well my Octy failed its NCT (MOT in Ireland) last week. It needs a nearside wishbone which is no problem but it also failed on the rear lights.

The rear fog light is illuminating (all be it very slightly) under braking!

I've located the earthing point for the lights and gave it a good clean. It had some corrosion on it but the problem is still there!

Has anyone come across this before? Where does one go from here? Brake switch maybe?

Cheers

Keith

sounds like the lamp cluster to me   start by isolating one,

Sounds like a bad earth. Once coroded the terminals may not be good enough for high load. Try a wire from eath point on car to the earth on lamp unit
