After 500 miles in my new Yeti 1.2 TSI 110 SE I decided to open the bonnet for the first time and was very surprised to see

the complete absence of any sort of sound deadening material under the bonnet lid. There appears to be a very large round

space where this could be provided without problem but I wonder if this is yet another VAG cost cutting exercise like

the provision of only two boot nets instead of the four previously supplied. Is this material supplied on more expensive Yeti

models and if so can it be fitted retrospectively. ????

I believe Škoda don't fit engine/bonnet sound deadening on their petrol engines, only their agricultural diesels get it.

On the 2016 L&k 1.4tsi petrol, no sound insulation is fitted under bonnet, hardly needs it. 

Only fitted on diesel models.

Thanks guys,  does anyone know if the bonnet sound deadening kit 5LO 863831 happens to fit the Yeti F/L 2016 or just the previous model ???

Thanks James, have ordered today from Bickerton Skoda, was not aware of the Etka website very informative.

I just bought a load of closed cell self adhesive foam and covered the underside of the bonnet on my Octy. Tbh though the difference is hardly noticeable.

Let us know if you notice much difference when it's done

Regrettably the difference is as others have suggested is hardy noticeable. Having said that at least the underside of the bonnet

now looks finished and it may help later in the year with colder weather - can't do any harm I feel

Done the whole Bonnet with this. (underside obviously)

Then refitted the original felt.
