Playing around with updating, changing etc

Featured Replies

Dunno I just though the miles on approaching 49k on the octy 3 vrs petrol, maybe I ought to try an indemnify myself against depreciation of it due to miles....

Although I'm not using a lot as my Fabia 1 vRS is still strong and enough miles on to be the miles eating beast so maybe I should continue doing that whilst diesel isn't quite in the crosshairs yet.

But I did think maybe I should simplify my life, less cars and bikes !

I've got a m/cycle just don't really use enough, £2k ish worth

The Fabia....maybe instead of having 2 cars sell this also ( maybe £2k possibly, gotta say worth that to keep though unless I get a lower mile octy or something).

1 - Whats the Octy 3 worth, 2014 with almost 49k on the clock ? satnav and canton. 12.5K maybe ?

2 - Any other options other than Octy vRS petrol that others can recommend but comparable price etc? or a good used purchase of say similar to what I have but newer/less miles/230 etc  ?

Cheers

Actually perhaps this is in haste. The 220 is still incredibly rare in thoroughbred petrol form (compared with diseasel), values for the Octy seem to be relatively strong and I won't be added miles that much if I don't use it daily currently being more of a weekend toy

- ( everyone else will be catching up with my miles averaging it out!).

This is a year older than mine, only 10k less miles, and asking for what I paid a year ago !

Get rid of both cars and just keep the motorbike (where in Northants are you?)

Haha yeah :)

I'm Kettering direction of Northants Paul

Both the mk1 and Triumph have in common, both yellow, great if you love the novelty of yellow, after a combination of 17 years in ownership of yellows starting to get a teeny weeny bit long in the tooth ;)

Now if it was blue, black, or a T595 model or early 955i shape (like my previous one to that) might be a different story ;) I have owned this bike for 7 years now.

I actually did get rid of a 595 in 2009 when I got the late model 955, the later bike was night and day in terms of smoothness and lack of hassle to own compared to the early bike.

But it was definitely a lovehate fpr the 595, when it was going well, it was a beast

( though the clutch had a lot to answer for, seemed very heavy and on off for me ).

To answer Q 1 in the original post, I've used Parker's valuations (the paid version, allows mileage adjustments, extras, etc) for a few years and always find them very close to what the dealers have on their screens.

I guess there isn't much to complete on all round newness, value and package to the vRS petrol unless anyone else can offer any suggestion and I'm not going down any Kia Proceed route or anything like that. Seat will be more expensive too for pretty much the same thing too.

I was playing around with idea, could I see, and get something like mine (can be an octy petrol vrs again) a bit newer and less miles without having to chuck too much money down ?

Not a lot out there though and certainly not worth 6K for 20k miles less similar age or 10K+ for a 230 so I guess I'm answering my own question.

Its not nice seeing the miles go up though lol, even though they haven't that much from me personally (what maybe 4k ish in over a year I think, not sure).

I wouldnt be too sure on that.

When I bought the vRS, The Leon FR with identical engine spec etc was the same haggled price (what swung it was the extra space of the estate as the ST wasnt released, and the better finance package of 0% vs 4.9%)

Always worth checking out the competition.
