no brakes? help

Featured Replies

Long brake pedal with no assisted braking. pedal goes all the way down then very firm then abs kicks in very easy.

brake fluid needed topping up however the fluid kept dissapearing? entering servo? took of mastercyclinder but cant feel any fluid inside.

whilst engine was off i depressed brake pedal hoping it would then go firm. pedal doesn't go firm at all.

where do i go from here? replace MC and servo?

Might be obvious but have you checked all the bleed nipples are nipped up and there aren't any leaks from any of the brake pistons? I would of thought you would noticed this however as it would have to be a fairly severe leak!

all nipples are tight however there is a small leak/sweat from the nsr calliper. looks as if its coming from the handbrake arm on the calliper if that is the correct terms

thanks for reply

You need to source your loss of fluid first?? Find the leak as if the servo or mc packs in, it isnt usually common to dry out the system. Fill with fluid and restest? Interested to know how this goes

You thought Master cylinder-servo leak. Easy way to find this- on a clear road, brake long and hard, and look for WHITE smoke behind. Brake fluid burns white. I've only had it once, with a master cylinder leak into the servo.

How's it going to smoke if the engine uses a vacuum pump instead of manifold pressure tho ????.

As said above you need to fix any leaks as air can also be drawn in through a leaky seal causing an long pedal

Ah, the white smoke would need to get added I'd guess? (where there is a will there is a way)
