Lowering Springs For Fabia

Featured Replies

Anyone know where I can get a decent set of lowering springs for a Fabia 1.2.

I want to lower the car about 30 to 35mm.

I have seen some around for about

Nothing but springs, the Eibach kits are around

I would have said you need to change the springs and dampers for them to be matched....try Jabba as they do Eibach springs and Koni dampers. I think AmD also do this combo.

I think Dev jsut did his springs though.

Doh.....he's just posted.;)

Looks nice, Is the handling a lot firmer while driving..

My girlfriends brother is a mechanic, so said if i can source the springs no problem..

Does it make a difference even though my car is 1.2...as I can see lots of springs for 1.4 cars

A BIT firmer? :D - Actually, it's a little bouncier over bumps in a straight line, but retains it's normal ability to soak up undulations, etc.

But.... :D around corners, not meaning to blaspheme, but JESUS CHRIST! - It stiffens up beautifully, and increase cornering ability massively (IMO) - Grip comes down to tyres, not whether the suspension wallows around bends.

edit: sorry, didn't answer all the Q's - You may have to check out the msport.co.uk website to see if they list a 1.2 kit yet, but IMO I reckon the 1.4 MPI springs would be really suitable. It would be worth checking the gross weight of your 1.2 against the 1.4...

Thanks for that, I am going to look around for a strut brace aswell, doing little things bit by bit...

Recently got the Car Chipped, K&N induction kit and just got the new ss exhaust, the car is around 90BHP maybe more or slightly less...

Great to have a mechanic at hand and no labour costs :-D

Remember to budget(!) for a pair of Jason's patented axle stands as well!! ;)

Huh?? Me dumb?

I've said before they were just for added safety as that trolley jack was quite old, but as it happened, quite reliable too.

My mechanic mate was sort of paid - It was a you scratch my back kind of setup (I did a morning's labour doing shopfitting for his Mother in Exeter)

PS: anyone like the wiring for the amp coming off the battery? [red, mmm] :D - It was good fun hacksawing the battery cover to get it shut again, and I managed to use some sensible 70A cable instead of the welding cable I originally bought.

Robert,

I have some H&R 30mm springs for the Fabia if your'e interested. Got them for my TDi but werent suitable!

Robert - IMO, take Matt up on this offer! Those springs I believe would be perfect for your car, and at a price that's not going to break the bank!

Why were they not suitable? Only ask as Ive just got a set of H+R Fabia TDi springs.

Front was way too low.

Whats the part number you have ordered?

Mine are no. 29409-1 (103-248441)

Springs make a huge difference. My old 16v had Pi springs and it handled like a dream! Need to get the vRS suspension sorted now. Not as sure-footed as the 16v was.

As much as I love my vRS. I really do miss that car! :(

BUY THOSE SPRINGS they are a bloody good deal i nearly bought them myself but have now defected from the furbie clan and bought an octy

and how is the Octy, Alex? Or have I missed the thread all about it?

i am playing coy at the moment been too busy driving it but wow what a car!

enough said really

Will you be running the same Eibach springs in your vRS as your TDi? If so do you have the part number of the Eibachs? I will double check my H+R's tomorrow.

Cheers

Eibach: Skoda Fabia Diesel (ref. 7911.140)

Not sure if I will be swapping the springs over to the vRS - I've told myself I will leave the new one alone! Apart from a visit to Jabba...

Thanks alot Matt. I'll get onto Eibach in the morning. The H+R's I have are the same number as yours.

I owe you a beer

I said I'd leave mine alone too, but need more confidence in corners. The old 16v handled soooo much sweeter!
