Phone mode, i am confused

Featured Replies

HI i have an 11 plate suburb, and i have noticed that when i the car connects to my phone, it knocks the data signal off, which in one sense is a good thing,  but it also wont send text messages, so even it i am stopped  i have to disconnect my phone to send them.

but i have also noticed that if i turn off the bluetooth on my phone and back on and get the phone to connect to the car rather than the car connect to the phone, i get a data siganl but lose some of the setting options.

is this a built in thing when the car connects to the phone to knock of the data?

thanks

You're probably in rSAP mode which means the car effectively unplugs the SIM from the phone and connects it to the GSM tranceiver in the car. All calls and texts are routed through the car's GSM module instead of the phone's. The car won't sync them back to the handset when you disconnect either.

If you don't want this to happen, you need to use HFP instead.

All the details of this are on page 141 of the owner's manual.

change it from "premium" which takes over the phone's SIM to "handsfree" , then you can use the phone as normal
