After lots of "research" it seems that the Octavia estate is the car to replace my tired Berlingo, we live in France, tow a 900klgs caravan and have narrowed it to a 1.6 cr Octavia Estate, around 2012 model,

 

Any comments, views and advice welcome, also recommends for sales, we prefer r/h drive hence the need to buy in the UK

That's what I am currently driving as a surrogate vehicle given to me by the dealer until my delayed Octy arrives. I am greatly underwhelmed by the engine and I would not want to tow anything with it as I reckon it has troubles propelling itself alone. Get the larger engine if at all possible. I figure it has even better mileage as there's no need ti rev it so often.
