i have a 2007 skoda octavia l+k diesel when i have my caravan hitched on to the car and i put it in reverse the sensors go off.is there anyway to stop this from happening.

If (and it's a big if, they often aren't) it's been fitted using the proper skoda wiring harness then there's a setting in VCDS to disable the rear sensors and fog light when a trailer hitch is connected.

There's a setting in VCDS to disable sensors when trailer is in use

In my OH fuses 11+18 are for parking aid.

Pulling them would disable the reverse sensors.

thanks is that the only way to disable them when towing.

Unless you have the official wiring kit installed for the tow bar then yes.

 

Without the official wiring the car can't know if there is a caravan attached to disable the sensors.
