As far as I know, my car doesn't have the "WLAN" option specified. However, in the menus there are options for WLAN. I've managed to set up my car on my house network, and also on my phones hotspot. But what is this option for?!

I havent tested but I think this is for the use of a media server on your phone or other device.

I believe it allows you to turn your car into an internet hotspot for other devices, the internet being provided either by the 4G on your phone connected via USB OR through the data SIM in your car if you have paid for that option.

 

I think the "Premium" WLAN package in the Superb and MY2017 means you can actually connect your phone to CarPlay via WiFi rather than USB, but don't quote me on that.

When on the media screen the bottom left button on screen to select the source, I have wifi as a source
