Bluefin

Featured Replies

Installed bluefin this weekend. Excellent improvement the car has come alive. Anyone considering buying should give it a go and there is currently about £80 off the list price.

I have been giving that a lot of consideration recently. Do they just post it to you? Can you chose any type of map or is it a generic one?

You select the make and model on line then it's posted out to you. I got mine from Demon Tweeks it comes with a free K&N air filter. Download the original map onto the Bluefin upload to Superchips a few minutes later a new map is ready to download to the handset, plug it in to the diagnostic socket and it automatically uploads to the car. Twenty minutes later the car is remapped it's really easy and well worth the cost.

Can you clarify the steps?

You download the original to bluefin...does this mean you connect the unit to the car for it to copy the oem map to the unit and then connect to a PC to update with a new map?

Is it all browser based or do you need to download in install files to the PC? I ask because I run chrome and don't use windows or mac os in any form.

Also, is your car currently under Skoda warranty?

My car is not now under warranty. Yes you connect to the car to download the original map then upload to Superchips. Windows only so it would be best to borrow a Windows laptop.

Trying to decide between Bluefin and APR once my VRS is out of warranty!

Bluefin is cheaper...but the VRS gains in torque seem quite aggressive - supposed to take to around 450NM...worried the DSG might just given up with that!
