Fabia vrs 1.9 tdi cutting out!

Featured Replies

Morning guys, here to pick your brains on an annoying fault I have with my car!

Right.. My fabia seems to cut out when in boost further up the Rev range, when driven like a granny it's fine? Almost like the Fueling can't keep up so it dies like it's running out of diesel?

I have replace the lift fuel pump! The tandem pump! Both fuel relays! Injector loom? I'm running out of ideas.

Plugged to a snap on and it brings up no fault codes!!

I need help as this problem as you could probably tell is frustating ????????????

Fuel filter changed?

Have you scanned for fault codes? The car should have enough sense to log a fault even without a malfunction light

Does it reset itself if you turn it off and back on again? The cutting out can often be it going into limp mode from sticky turbo vanes. I fixed it on mine (I think/hope, it didn't go into limp mode today) by sticking some Forte Turbo Cleaner in the tank and giving it a good drive.

Yeah I have just had a full serviced I.e oil/filter/fuel filter.

So your saying having sticky vains on my turbo could cause to cut out?

Once it has cut out, take about 20secs to crank over to fire up again.. Almost trying to get fuel again?

Ah, my mistake, didn't realise it was cutting out entirely.

I'd change the fuel pump relay first as it'll be the cheapest possible fix and that's what worked for me, sometimes mine would cut out and not start again for the entire day and then next morning start up within seconds! cut out randomly while driving many times and had to get recovered home about 7 times, managed to pick up the relay from somebody near by breaking a Fabia for £3 and it's been fine since
